EndNote is a computer program which can help with referencing and intext citations for your studies.

Copying Style Instructions

If you need to copy any of the styles below into Endnote please follow these instructions.

 

1) Right click on the style title (in blue)

2) Click on Save Target As (Save Link As if you are using Firefox)

3) In the box that appears choose the following file path  C://Program Files/EndNote X6/Styles for a PC OR Applications/EndnoteX6/Styles for a MAC

4) Click Save.

 

The style will now appear in your Endnote style folder.  To select it Open EndNote (you must close EndNote and reopen it if you had it open during the copying process). Select the down arrow next the the Biblographic Style box.  Click on Select Another Style.  Wait for the box to appear then scroll down to the style you want and click Choose.

APA Style

The APA style that comes with EndNote is not correct.  The correct style is below.  Follow the instructions in the top box to copy this style into your EndNote programme.  This style is on the CD that can be borrowed from the Library.  If you copied it then you do not have do it again.

 

APA Section style

If you need to produce two reference lists within your document or thesis using APA you need to use the APA section style below.  You need to insert a Section Break in your word document  to produce a reference list above the section break and another at the end of the next part.
